Bad News

Well I was getting ready to go to work and went out to my car today (this morning) and notice there was paper all over the place, I thought this was strange. Then it hit me, my car was broken into and my Vera Bradley book bag that I saved for was gone. I am just so disgusted and did not feel like going into work. Why do people steal? Why not work for what you want like the rest of us? I had to buy new hubcabs because some one stole them. You know ilive in a neighborhood where we hardly ever lock our doors and now it seems like it is going dowm hill. I really think it is some kids from around here. I am going to Sam's today to buy a camera. I AM P.O'd

Also my car is old (89 camery) and the cop act as though he did not want to take prints he didn't even try to get prints off of anything else other than the door, come on

    oh, i hate to hear that!!! do you all have a neighborhood watch program? if not, it might be time to set one up: hubcaps and bookbags are 'small' but a watch program might help keep things from going further down-hill...

    oh! I am so sorry to hear that!! That totally stinks!!! I know what you mean. You work hard and some people just come around that think they can take the easy way out and just steal from you. Gosh! I am sorry.

    I am so sorry to hear that! Some people are so selfish! And the cop was definately not helpful. It feels awful when someone takes your stuff! I hope things get better for you! You'll get through this.

    Sorry to hear that. It must feel like a violation of your space and compromises your safety too. I guess you and your neighbors will have to start locking doors now.

    I just checked out the Vera Bradley website to learn a little more about their products...DARN Amber...that was an investment in a nice book bag that you lost!!! I agree, why are there people who think they can just break and take...shame on them! I hope the scumbag is caught and you receive restitution!

    I'm sorry to hear that. It's tough saving up for something that you want and some thief who thinks they are entitled doesn't want to do the things you did to acquire things.

    We ran into the same thing when my husband's Van (Work and Toods inside) was broken into. They didn't want to fingerprint either and they just wanted to give you a case number. It's very insensitive.

    Theres nothing wrong with an '89 Toyota! We love our "ole blue"!
    You are right, there is a little too much vandalism/theft being done to your vehicle! Ya know, it just seems like it would be a female, cause would a guy really know about bags?
    I guess the cops figure you will just claim it on insurance and why should they bother to catch the person?

    Wow, you can get them to fingerprint for a car broken into? I don't think the fingerprint dust comes out here for anything short of murder.

    So sorry to hear that! When my car was broken into the cops wouldn't even come to the site. They literally took my police report over the phone and then faxed it to the insurance company. You're lucky you got them to do anything! Hope everything turns out OK!

    Sorry to say that's the norm out here have had my car vandalized numerous times and now that we live in a very nice neighborhood it is way worse! Luckily now we have a garage to park the cars.

    I really don't think it has anything to do with you or your car, cops generally don't take prints, here anyway, just too much vandalism to keep up with - people never get caught.

    So so sorry though. Really sucks. I wouldn't leave anything in the car...
