No sodas

January 3rd, 2017 at 03:16 am

Today was a good day, no sodas. I had given them up for some time, but then boom I started again. I decided to pay myself $2 for every time I don't have a soda. I think by doing so it will encourage me to drink more water 💦

On a different note 📝 , I only spent $27 dollars today filling up my car, and a $100 on the cable, my fingers are crossed that tomorrow is a no spend day. I have to figure out how to get this cable bill down. I'm really considering a fire stick.

Lastly, my mom finally did it, she told my sister to get out. I can't figure out for the life of me why she is so hateful. My sister cause no trouble, she goes to work, church and home. My mother is up in age and not doing well. We all have said it, she's going to find herself in that house alone.

Hi, Amber. Sorry about your family difficulties. It's sad that people just sometimes can't get along.

However, I am curious about the left side of your page. It used to say what the balances of your credit cards are, but now there is nothing there. Are they all paid off? Just curious.

Uh... not sure what's up with your mom. Has she always been difficult? When my relatives aged I noticed a change when they got older. Either they became meaner because they no longer had energy to keep up their very thin-to-begin-with nice filter, or they'd had some sort of change in their brain, in our case, signalling onset of dementia.

In other news, I used to love sodas and drink them frequently. Now, I rarely do. I don't think about sodas. I don't crave them. They never occur to me. So yes, keep it up. The crave will go away!

The cravings definitely go away, but they are so strong! I still have an occasional one, but it's much more rare now.

Hi Crazyliblady, I'm updating my balances. Lol. Lord do I wish things were paid off, I've racked up so much debt but hopefully I can get things back down.

TheiftoRama my mom has been miserable/mean since I can remember and I'm soon to be 43. I really think she needs therapy. Also how did you manage to cut out the sodas?

Sorry your mom is so difficult. There really isn't anything to do but acknowledge it as fact. There are libraries full of books on the subject..no real, all encompassing solutions. What plan can sister make for satisfying accommodations?
I believe there is some ingredient in soda that has a link to addiction. I try substitutions, right now I'm trying yogurt drinks on hand. It's really cold so I've set up a container of flavoured teas. I'd made a pot of Green tea early AM and used the remainder of the pot to cook pork chops in the CP. {Oops, bought a whole, frozen sleeve and DH doesn't like these Frown ]. Made a raisin sauce in hopes a new presentation will cover-up. Experimenting with home made soup. Today, left over carrots and a few mini snack size for cream of carrot & ginger soup. So glad DH is ok with experiments Smile

@thriftorama. Yes, please enlighten us on how you cut out soda. I have been on vacation for 1 1/2 weeks now and have avoided it about 90% of the time, but the main thing that causes me stress, work, has not been on my plate. And I consume lots of sugar when I get stressed.

My mother was very controlling and sometimes bitter even when I was a little kid, but it seemed to get even worse after my dad died over 35 years ago. For some reason, everyone in the family seems to be aware of the issue, but no one wants to do anything about it. I am disconnected from about 1/2 of the family on my mother's side because of it. Oh well.

I've been off soda for around 4 months now. It was a little hard at first, but I'm almost to the point that I don't even think about it. I did have one fleeting thought of having one for my birthday - but decided not to, because that's how it begins...
