Made the first mortgage payment the other day, I only added an extra $25 to the principal. When it comes to this debt thing I have to do what makes me happy. The process maybe slower but t works for me.
2019 goal is to pay off CC9 by end of March. I’ll be adding extra to the CC next Friday. I realized that I can’t get this card down because it’s the only one I have not taken out of my purse, so out it goes.
Other news Christmas is my least favorite holiday, it’s the gift giving that gets me in a tizzy. I was able to set a little aside this year, for the first time, and it worked out. I told my SO not to buy me a thing. I’m not buying him anything. Only my nephews.I spent $80 on two of them and wasn’t really happy about that. My oldest nephew, he’ll get $50 bucks. My mom a $20 gift card for her nails.
Speaking of my mom, the woman drives me crazy. She’s complaining that she has four kids and she should get at least $400 from us for Christmas. I haven’t had a Christmas gift let a lone a card from this woman since my freshman year in high school and I’ve been out of school for 25+ years. I simply told her no.
Today was a no spend day, washed my hair at home so I added $45 to CC9.

It looks like you added the money you set aside to baby step one. I thought you would have almost $9,200 when you combined the totals. Did some of that money get spent? Was it set aside for something else? I'm pretty sure looking at the balance in that account every few days and seeing it not go down is going to make you more comfortable about being in control.
Yes, you are nervous about the mortgage. Paying off all that other debt will put you in a good position to pay down the mortgage faster. You will have a safety margin once there are no other claims on your income.
And good for you for setting boundaries with your mom. A gift card for her nails shows you thought about what was important to her.

Yes the money went down, my brother was in a jam ( the one I talk to) so I gave him a little. He never ever ask for money, so for him to do so I knew I needed to help.
The card I use to buy foolish things. I’m in the store can’t find my bank card so I swipe, and say I’ll pay it later. Well later never happens. I’ve removed it
Today is planning day, I’ll take a look at my budget. I haven’t been using the envelopes so I’m back at it. CC9 should be gone by March 31st

In your shoes, I would do all food, hair (except necessary cuts), and nails at home until I was done with the debt. No new clothes unless something got holes or was too faded to wear, either. Even putting another $200 a month to the debt would help knock it out faster. If you get that side job, you can kick the payoff into high gear.

I guess your mom feels entitled. I don't blame you for being upset by that request. It sounds like so many people in your life are users...your mom, SO, etc. Glad you are standing your ground.
