Broke the cycle

April 12th, 2008 at 01:55 am

Well I made breakfast and one of the patient's bought us lunch which was really good, but I bought a book today for $14. On top of that I forgot I have free showtime for a few months, if
I had remembered I could have watched a movie rather than buying a book

The book will still be there when the movies are gone. Keep it around and use it later! Enjoy catching up on the movies!

    Thanks Jan
I never thought about it that way, I was just looking at the money spent

Amber: Sometimes you have to reward yourself as you go along. You have really been doing well with not spending money and maybe the book is a reward to you for doing so well. At least with the book you can keep it. It's tangible unlike so many expenses that we all make that we never see again.

Sometimes when I do well with my grocery shopping; I will leave a certain amount left so that I can reward us with something special that we ordinarily don't buy. It gives you something to save for. If I spent normally, I could not afford a little luxury once in a while.

You might want to put a post it note in your book to remind you of your recent accomplishments (in case you want to sell the book later).

Dumb boys :/ Hope your reading/movie watching goes well. Maybe next time get a book from the library? I so prefer buying books, but if it's something fiction that I may not ever read again, it seems to pay off. I'm with Aleta, though, rewarding yourself every now and again is totally necessary.
