No payday for me

May 31st, 2006 at 01:52 am

Well today was suppose to be payday and I checked my account and of course no deposit. I work with a man who seems to think that people do not live check to check, I mean litterly he has stated this. Can you believe that? So he takes his time when it's time to do paychecks. I mean right now I am ok but I like to get paid when I am suppose to like anyone else

$100.00

May 31st, 2006 at 01:02 am

Thank God, my brother paid me another $100.00 therefore he owes me $265.00 but for some reason he thinks he only owes me for $35.00 he must have forgotten that he did not repay me in April but I will remind him espceially since every penny is counting now because of the fact that I will need a new car but I am adding this $100.00 to the challenge bringing my total to $694.00 hopefully I may not need to touch my EF as a down payment...maybe the credit union will give me a loan please pray for me

$20.00 Challenge

May 31st, 2006 at 12:41 am

Spent about $10.87 eating out breakfast and lunch so I had to match that. But I was also able to add $41.26 totaling $52.13 added to my challenge which came to
$594.00 Smile this money insteasd of paying off debt or adding as a down payment to my new home it will be used for a down payment on a new car along with my EF. Glad I was saving

More Auto Troubles

May 31st, 2006 at 12:17 am

Wow took the car in regarding the oil change and I had several ther leaks totaling about $3000.00 more than what the car is worth so I will be looking for a new car the end of June there goes my savings but things happen, but in the end $83.61 was spent on my A/C because in FL you really need A/C in your car

Pay Day

May 30th, 2006 at 01:19 am

Our pay period ends the 14th and the 28th of every month depending on my boss' mood he will either take care of payroll when he is suppose to, on the 14th or the 28th or when he feels like it 1-2 days laterFrown I am upset because when ever he calls the time, it's two days from that date that we will be paid and being that today was a holiday I hope he took care of it on Friday so that we maybe paid tomorrow no later than Wednesday. But now with my oil leak I have to take my car to the shop and going through the bills that are due I will only be able to sock away about $85.00 into my savings not including the $15.00 for my IRA account. Now Friday will be my first check from the part-time job which I do not want to touch but if push comes to shove I will have to

Car trouble

May 30th, 2006 at 12:47 am

Just went outside for something and notice a oil leak of some sort Frown Last year I totaled my car and was given a 89 camery which I am thankful for...I only spent about 2000.00 having repairs done such as:the transmission, oil changes and tires, a battery. Since my accident I have not saved for a new car Frown I should have but I didn't. The money I was paying for my old car was $350.00 a month that should have went to the side but it wasn't until December of last year that I got serious about my debt and not until February of this year that I started really trying to save...so now what I put aside in my EF and challenge money I may have to use Frown either to get my car fix or a dowm payment on a car, oh boy. I hope this is not an expensive repair but oil leaks can be costly. I am so depressed now

Late books again

May 29th, 2006 at 10:36 pm

Foolish me I did not return the library books again because I did not get a change to read them only one I was unable to renew because it was only a day rental (new book) so now I owe.50 I thought it was more than that. For some reason I thought on new books the late fee is a 1.00 day wow thank goodness because I am finish and I am returning it the firs thing in the morning and will add .50 to the challenge because it is money wasted

I love this site

May 29th, 2006 at 10:20 pm

I must check this site a million and one times a day. I love this site, it is one of my favorites I enjoy reading everyone's post and responses, even at a family function like now I am on the internet checking back into to savingadvice.com

Oops I forgot

May 29th, 2006 at 09:49 pm

I forgot today was a no spend day so therefor, 1.00 was added to the challenge, my new car account and for education. Brining my new totals to:

$20 Challenge: $541.87
New Car $62.44
College/books $62.08

Line Dry

May 29th, 2006 at 09:40 pm

I notice a lot of people here dry their clothes on the line versus in the dryer so lately I have been taking this challenged..I dried 3 louds of clothes yesterday would have may cost me about $4.00 to dry at the laundromat. So I am happy. I did use fabric softer haven't been the past (not really) but I did notice the difference and here in sunny FL it is always hot so line drying should not be a problem so I am adding the $4.00 o challenge brining my total to $540.87

Happy Memorial Day

May 29th, 2006 at 09:35 pm

just wanted to wish every one a happy and safe holiday, here in FL the cops are out full force giving out a lot of tickets...that is what the news reported but I did not see but one cop hovering over a homeless man. So be safe and responsible today Smile

Helped a friend out

May 29th, 2006 at 09:16 pm

I helped a friend out today who's husband is away and he's parapalegic. I worked at her store for free, stock shelves, moped the floor rung up customers that sort of stuff. Tomorrow is my day off so I'll go there and help out for a few hours she's actually thinking about selling the business...says it's too much of a headache . I wonder just wondering if I should look into it I don't know a little mini mart can be a headache.
So basically I worked for free but in the end a friend received the much wanted help that was needed

Funded Car Account

May 29th, 2006 at 05:00 am

Well today was suppose to be a no spend day but I ended up spending $10.00 for gas and $4.02 for snacks that I can munch on at my part-time job. So I wasted $4.00 and because I had snacks at home I could have easily had those; therefore I added $4.00 to the challenge and added .98 to my car expense account ...rounded up the change. Because I have two different checking accounts; all the change rounded from my main account is added to the challenge and what I use from my fun account my me account all the changed rounded is added to the car account.First time I actually rounded change to the car account Smile
So new totals:
$20.00 challenge: $536.87
$ Car Account: $61.44

Just working

May 29th, 2006 at 04:48 am

Well tonight was better than yesterday(part-time job), very quiet no 911 calls and only a few from the other building. I really hope they conider hiring some one part-time over there because the calls never stop.

Well I did well, I only spent $5.09 today

Crazy day

May 28th, 2006 at 04:50 am

Today was my first day alone on the job(part-time)...boy oh boy. It was a peacful night until about 9pm then the phone went crazy the front desk rep leaves at 8 pm on the other side so the main building gets all the calls, and guess where I am. You have nurses who are busy not answering their line, some patients who wants to know what day it is or confused about the time of day..911 calls just none stop. I could not wait unitl 11
Thank God this is a part-time job

Target

May 27th, 2006 at 02:40 am

Just left Target, needed some things; however, I notice on the receipt that they are giving away $5000.00 for filling out a survey. So me being the person I am I keep all receipts for the month for every single purchase I have made anyway I entered in the contest 5x, boy I hope I win

Dining out at extra cost

May 27th, 2006 at 02:26 am

Well I treated myself and my mom to dinner $12.91 I am not upset but what I am upset about is that I have spent a ton of money dining out, especially since I found my little italian deli total thus far for the month $158.31. Now I have to add $12.00 to the challnege money for eating out and .09 rounding up now my new total is $532.87

Nice day

May 26th, 2006 at 10:32 pm

Well I always take a vacation day the Friday and Tuesday after Memorial Day and today I did not do a thing, just lounged around and it felt sooo good. But tomorrow I have to go into my part-time job, which I do not mind. Boy was it nice just to sit in my PJ's like Hugh Heffner all day

Addiction

May 25th, 2006 at 11:36 pm

I found this little italian deli by the job that I absolutely love, it's Manzo's the only one around. I am addicted I eat there atleast 3x+ a week they have the best subs. And because I know I should be bringing lunch and not eating out, but the subs are soooooooooo good I can't help it. But because once again I wasted money eating out I had to deposit the same fund to my challenge money which was
$8.45 now brining my new total to $520.78
One thing I do know is next week I am sticking to the plan and no Manzo's

Over charge

May 25th, 2006 at 03:31 pm

Well I just spoke with the woman who ws in charge of charges at the itlalian deli that I frequent, who stated she would credit me the $17.80 right away..it was easier than I thought. But I did insist that I fax her the info just so there is no other problems that my arrive later. I'll check withthe bank later regarding the credit and then add this amount to my challange since I subtracted it anyway from my register

$20.00 Challenge

May 25th, 2006 at 03:23 pm

Just added my weekly deposit of $25.00 to th e challenge money brining my total to $511.83. I have met my $100.00 goal for the month in deposits to the challenge, but get this I went over by another $111.00 I am so proud of myself beacuse I plan on using this money to pay off a cc. I was planning on using it for a new house and figured thanks to you guys I could save even more if the cc/ debts are all paid off first

Daily News

May 24th, 2006 at 11:03 pm

You read the paper and the headlines are
"murder, robbery/theft, rape..etc" never anything positive you turn on the television and it is the same thing this time they want to scare us to death about the bird flu or some other disease than can kill you. I am sorry tired of all the negative reporting but I guess that is what sells

Late Library Book

May 24th, 2006 at 10:56 pm

Once again I have a book that is due back, but I just started it today and it's due today (A 7 day borrow only). Anyway I am hoping I can finish it tonight and only be fined $1.00 (it would be a day late) but I don't think I will. It was a book that I was waiting on but when the library called I was in the middle of reading another book in which I just finished yesterday. Darn what a waste

$20.00 Challenge

May 24th, 2006 at 02:35 pm

Well yesterday for some reason I had extra .80 cents in my account that I transferred to the challenge and could not figure out why, it was because I entered a transaction in as a withdrawl instead of a deposit. So today I show my account with $2.40 extra after making the correction but I am not upset becuase I just added this amount to the challenge
brining my total to $486.83
