A Rat!

May 17th, 2008 at 03:51 am

OMG, it is never ending with me. If it is not this tooth it is something else. Now we have a rat in our house. My mom says it is because the door was left open which I find hard to believe that if the door was open that no one saw it come in. Any how I think it is because of all the trees she finally cut down in addition we have mango trees. My uncle bought or got a rat trap and I hope like Hell it is caught tomorrow or tonight for that matter

Is it just a field rat? They are kind of like big mice - not too bad really - although we only had one in our yard and not our house. I hope your uncle has also volunteered to get the trap after it's been used. Smile

I found a dead rat under my dresser some time ago. I think my cat brought it in and it died there, but it was very creepy to think a RAT was in my house!

Stay positive! Don't focus on all the negatives going on...you'll just get more of them. I hope the rat is trapped quickly.

I have a cat that keeps my problem under control. We live near a canal and a big park. We have also had alot of road construction.

One other thought is that there have been a lot of fires in Florida and that seems to move the rats more into the housing areas.

I have pet rats; they're a far cry from their wild cousins. I also have 8 rescue kitties in the house, but they don't care about the rats. I think they can sense that the rats will defend themselves by using those very long incisor teeth. They've never used them on me, since domestic rats are not biters, unless provoked. Hamsters and gerbils are far, far worse.

Hopefully, the wild one in your place will die a quick and painless death. Oh, my rats' names are Blackie, Missy, Whiskey, Patch and Little Buddy. They're sweet and quite smart, as they come when I call them by name.

Good luck! Rats and snakes don't bother me. I do despise cockroaches (Palmetto bugs in Florida) YUCK!!!

Rats love cola drinks. If you put out some regular cola (don't use diet) it will kill the rat. It is a slow death over several days but it could be a back up to the rat trap. Good Luck!
