I'm so embrassed

March 9th, 2009 at 05:26 pm

I went to my interview today and it was going OK until she ask me about my last job and I started crying. Can you believe it? I know I won't get a call back but I hate I started crying. I just informed the interviewer that I was upset because working there was like working with family and that I was going to miss everyone there
I can't believe it
There was only on job posted today that I could possible apply for so I went ahead and did that, I have had no phone calls but I'm optimistic

I, too, cried at a job interview once...I felt awful...and, no, I didn't get that job...but, I really loved the job that I DID get later on!
    ((hugs))

Everyone has little bouts of being emotional at one time or another. Don't let it get to you. Look forward and keep your head up.

You gave a good reason for your emotions... and maybe the interviewer will see beyond the tears to a person who could be an excellent prospect. Do not be ashamed and move on if it does not pan out. Something even better may come along.

It's okay! If it still works out great, if not, something better will come of it. Try to do a little practicing on how you will answer that question next time, so you can do it without as much emotion. ((HUGS))

Don't give it a second thought - no need to be embarrassed. At least you are dealing with your emotions and not surpressing them. Get plenty of rest and don't forget to eat!! (Hugs)

It is still really fresh...you need time to adjust to the changes. I would use it as a learning experience.

Awww, don't feel bad about that. I don't think they'll ding you for it. I've interviewed job applicants before, and if I had a female interviewee who cried because she would miss her co-workers, I would not ding her for that at all.

I think that it shows your humanness and I don't think anyone is going to not understand the conditions innocent workers are facing today. I think that the real you will show. There would have been those that would have badmouthed the last situation and would have found someone to blame. You'll be fine. Hang in there!

    Amber,
Sorry to hear about your interview, but don't worry. Its perfectly normal to be emotional and I'm sure some of the different feelings about the situation are still coming in. Things will get better!

Amber, big hugs to you. You shouldn't be embarrassed, and I hope your interviewer will see how kind and thoughtful you are.

i think they will understand in the current time. also they will probably see that you were loyal to your job, that is a good thing. don't worry too much Smile if you don't get this job i am sure you will get a great one soon.
also, while you are still looking, do take the time out to relax a little. it's not nice being without a job, but everyone has faith in you that you will get one, so even though i know its stressful that everything is uncertain, make sure you take a little time out for yourself too.
