Once Again

December 7th, 2011 at 01:38 am

Once again my BF does not have his portion of the money to take a trip that I have been planning since January this year. On my bucket list is to visit every state, so for the upcoming year we were to start with Alabama. Well now as he puts it "He is in the hole" and I refuse to foot the bill this time for my birthday. This year I paid for everything, food, gas, the hotel, the theater, and the theme park. He was to give me some of the money back and normally he does but he did not. We have been together for 3 years and when it's his birthday I usually foot the bill but since he stood me up year, I did not pay for the hotel room.

Now here is the kicker, he wants to rent a hotel for Christmas for 4 days, I'd rather use that money for my trip.

Long story short, I am not paying $500 for us to fly to Alabama. If he wants to go dutch, that is perfectly fine with me.

On a different note, Publix had BOGO AJ frozen pancakes so I saved $2. 86

I received portion of my mileage check from my employer and was short $2. I think they do this on purpose hoping that you do not notice because it happens all the time. The person of course, who cuts the check was not in today, not surprised. So I deposited the funds and added $200 to my Challenge/EF account. Now I am just waiting on $91 hopefully I will have it by Friday. I'll add the $91 to the challenge and I would have met my goal above and beyond.

That's it in a nutshell

So disappointing what your bf did. I was in a relationship where my bf (now ex) pulled the same kind of stuff. I realized about three years into it that it wasn't for me since I wanted someone more stable with money and someone who could treat me to things every once in a while. That wasn't the only problem in the relationship (he was an alcoholic, too). Needless to say, I'm much happier now.

I really hope things work out for you. My situation was pretty hopeless with my ex.

Thanks ST. He is usually pretty good but lately things have been going downhill. I wish he would save more. What ever his kids want he gets it, even when he is financially in a hole. For example, daughter wants a bday party, he is in the hole per se, and yet planning a bday party. Now you want me to turn around and pay for my bday trip again and you knew about it for an entire year? not!

We just talked and he ask what I wanted for my bday, of course I said this trip but it's out because I can't see myself taking $600 out of my account for a trip. His response "Do you want to drive". I don't care if we drive, fly or swim, I am not taking any money out of my account that I did not budget for, period.
I budgeted $200 and that's it. The room is $100 and if we split it $50. I figured $50 for gas and the remainder, food, shopping etc. The $200 was in GC, I still have $200 in cash set aside for the trip. So I was not planning on taking $500 out of my account to pay for two plane fares plus $100 to rent a car

Whew! Sorry just had to vent

I'm sorry he's so bad with money. That must be very frustrating. I, too, want to visit every state in the union and all of Canada to boot.
