I have a confession

I have a crush on one of our patient's. Problem is how do I approach him(guess I am old school). I do know he is single with no kids and self employed, problem is he is about 10 years older than I am but that is about it and really isn't a promble. Oh well I guess the real problem is how do I approach him?
On a diffrerent note, I did not eat out today so $4 went to the cc

    I don't think it would be a good idea to approach him. It isn't ethical if he is your patient.

    For your sake, I don't think it's a good idea to pursue this while he's still a patient. But once he leaves, you can always talk to him about it afterwards?

    Just slip him your #. Say you should go out sometime or something.

    I honestly say ethical schmethical. LOL.

    Though I guess you do have to consider the consequences if he is not interested, you may see him again and it could be awkward.

    I just don't think love cares sometimes if it is your patient or your boss or your co-worker. But you definitely have to thing through the consequences since it is a bit of an awkward situation. Or if there are rules at your job, etc. I'd think "tread carefully." But not "off limits."

    According to your "bio", you are a health administration major. Therefore, I am assuming he is a patient where you work, not actually YOUR patient.

    If that is indeed the case - GO FOR IT! :-)

    I say go for it. Maybe you could just mention what you're doing (or not doing) this weekend... and see if he replies. If he's intersted too, it won't take much to get a conversation like that going. Good luck! Smile

    Yikes, as a RN I think this is dangerous territory BUT I am not familiar with the details of the situation. Talk to a trusted supervisor and if you have ANY doubts please don't do it...or at least WAIT until he isn't a pt. anymore.

    My mother was a hygenist, my dad was her patient. If she felt this was unethical, I wouldn't be here right now!
