Warning : very disturbing blog

July 11th, 2007 at 03:48 am

a few weeks ago, a woman was raped and her son (12 years old ) was forced at gun point to participate. This case has got me so upset that I have searched online for a place or a company who might be accepting donations for this woman and her kid. What's even more disturbing is that the crime was committed by a 14 year old and a 16 year old as well as about 8 other kids. My God what is this world coming to. My boss told me that Wachovia is excepting donations so I will go in tomorrow, I am using my tithe money in a way I feel guilty but I also feel like we as society owes this lady and her kid something and God would understand. She lives in a really bad part of town and according to neighbors she never spoke or bothered anyone and that she kept her son inside all the time because the neighborhood was so bad. Now these a%%^$ holes knock on her door and tell her, her tire was flat then pusht their way into her apartmet. Now what if her kid goes out and commit a crime can we really blame him...poor soul. I am just so P.O'd by what is going on here with these damn kids committing crimes and parents are saying they are too young, you're damn right too young to be commiting these sorts of crime but old enough to and understand the consequences
Sorry I am just so upset

Please turn off the news. The world is not what the TV/radio/newspaper/magazines depict as a whole. Speak to your neighbors, leaders of your faith, and others you trust to help get perspective.

Helping is noble. Will this be a catalyst for your long term commitment to help? There is a huge number of causes. It's okay if not. But whatever you decide, accept your decision. A little now, alot now, or alot later.

I think that it is a kind thing to help her and her son. They will both need therapy and lots of kindness to recover from this horrible thing. People like you who care are the ones that keeps society from degenerating.

You're a good person with a kind and wonderful spirit. It's so nice of you to help this family out. If the world was full or more people like you, we wouldn't have to see these heart braking stories on the news all the time.

I think that is a really good way to use your tithe money.

"pretty" is correct; there are some systemic problems, but society's not going to hell altogether. Things like what you related have been happening since humans first walked the earth. There are still a ton of good people out there. However, this poor woman and her kid do need to know that right now; when they see that people like you got together and tried to help, it may restore a little of their faith in humanity. I definitely think you should use your tithe money for that.

You seem like such a kind and sensitive girl. I'd heard of this and I've tried not to even think about it because it is so disturbing. There was another case somewhat like this a few months back where a young man and woman had their car break down, went looking for help and were both raped and killed and her body shoved in a trash can.

I may be wrong, but I think some of our children have become so desensitized by violence in the media and even hardcore pornography that they do not even see people as human and feel no remorse of any kind. All in the name of entertainment.

Just sit and read the story line of just about every TV crime show on during "Primetime", they are all about rape or violence. Since when is RAPE entertainment?

You know Sky I am just wondering maybe our kids have too much (in general, I am not a mom) I mean cell phones at 8, dvd's, name brand clothes, really nice cars at 16(BMWs) I mean what happened to parents telling their kids no than trying to out do the other families. A friend of mine's sister bought her kids 4, 8, and 12 $500 necklace and bracelet sets, this is crazy. By the way the arrested another 15 year old who was smiling for the cameras today and now looking for 7 more
