Ibotta charges a free 😡

January 22nd, 2017 at 01:41 pm

I've been using Ibotta for quite sometime but when my dad died I sort of stopped with the rebates.

I received an email that due to my account being inactive, I'll be charged a small fee if I didn't unlock a rebate. So I thought this is a perfect time to get back to earning cash anyway I can and attempted to log in. Well long story short I was unable to log in and tried several times. Fast forward and I receive an email and thought, you must log in. Well I did and the cut off date was 1/15. So I was charged the $1.40. It is a minimal amount but it still sucks.
I think I'm going to send them an email.

On a different note, I've been doing good with adding a few extra funds here and there to get the CC down. I'm hoping that by the end of the month I could have paid down at least a $1000, we will see.

Wal*Mart Saving Catcher

May 18th, 2015 at 09:48 am

I've been using the Wal*Mart saving catcher for about a month, and I've already earned $6.62. The funny thing is I find myself scoping out the parking lot for receipts, I've asked my mother to save me all her Wal*Mart receipts.

It's already the middle of the month and I haven't closed out accounts yet, I'm afraid to look at my spending. 😟

Oops I forgot, I earned $8 using ibotta app, can't wait to hit the $10 mark so that I can cash out

Ibotta Rebates, anyone enrolled?

January 20th, 2015 at 04:24 pm

I know I may be a little late but I've signed up for the Ibotta app, that apparently provides rebates for everyday purchases. I'm just curious, has anyone else signed up? If so what are your pros and cons?

I find the app to be very user friendly, I've already earned $2.25, can't wait to hit the $10 mark so that I can cash in.

Went back to Publix and picked up five more Capri Sun ( 10 in each) for 79 cents. They're on sale for $1.79 but Publix has a coupon for $1 Smile

Since I saved $5 using my coupons, I transferred this amount to my $20. :-)

I picked up a few more coupons so I'll pick up five more cases of the Capri Sun after work tonight

Couponing, yay!

July 13th, 2014 at 08:02 pm

Today I've decided to start back couponing, why I stopped ? I don't know.

I asked the BF to bring home his mom's Sunday paper because she never uses the coupons. I also asked my sister to bring her coworkers papers home (they use to save them for me).

So since I'm back couponing, I went to Publix and picked up three boxes of Capri Sun for 79 cents each. Not bad, each box hold 10. Publix has a dollar off coupon in their coupon book. While there I picked up a few of their booklets and tomorrow I plan on picking up about 10 more boxes. Being that I take these to work, they should last until Christmas Smile

On a different note, I wanted to share my three things that I'm thankful for:
• I'm thankful for this blog. Stumbling on this site about 8 years ago has really changed my financial world for the better. Not saying I haven't stumbled but that this site has allowed me to make better financial decisions.
• I'm thankful for the money saved on the Capri Sun Wink
• Thankful for seeing my great nephews and neice today, it was nice seeing them

That's it for me, wishing everyone a great work week

-Coupon, buy 1 get a $1.00 off
-Cost, +$.03

I know that I am back on track

November 23rd, 2011 at 03:53 pm

I know over the last few years I'll post "I'm trying this blogging thing again" and nothing. But as I sit here I realized that yes I am back on track. I have blogged every day now for a little over a week Big Grin In addition, I am so stuck on saving this, not spending that, that I know I am definitely back at it this time.

With that said, I have socked away over a $100 to my challenge in a week, created a price list, and just finish clipping my coupons and creating a spread sheet to keep track of all my coupons Big Grin

Tomorrow, I will get the newspaper from my BF mom, because she doesn't clip coupons and the only thing she reads in the paper is the obituaries. So once the paper is in my hand I will sock away $1.50 (cost of paper, had I bought it) to my challenge EF.

I'm not into extreme couponing, I don't find the need to stock up on items I do not use, but I do want to save money if I can.

Further more I am watching the news and all these people are lined up already for Black Friday, personally I do not want to be in that mess spending money I do not have. So, I will wait for my gift cards from MyPoints and get Christmas gifts then.

I refuse to go overboard this year, or use my CC.

Not to bad

June 14th, 2008 at 06:27 pm

I spent $4.98 on my God daughters birthday gifts. Her birthday is the end of the month and thank goodness Kohls sent out two $10 GC if you spent $10. Well yesterday I went in and the items came to $13.98 ( I did not realize that the shorts were eight dollars) but oh well and today I went in a found a really cute dress for $11 so $1 and some change was spent and I am done, unless I get another.
Next I ordered Directv for my dad because my brother is moving in and would like it, I had a refer a friend coupon and since I referred him I will save $10 a month on my bill for five months and my dad will save the same . God forbid if they gave you the $50 at once but oh well. I have to remember to add the $10 to my challenge every month
I did go to McDonald's today and spent $3.31 so $3 was added to my EF plus the $20 saved with the GC

June 5th, 2006 at 05:48 pm

Well I returned the fan and got my $10.64 back. so literally I spent zero today. I did very well as far as dining out, I did not eat out in the last 3 days; a first for me. I also got a free shirt at J.C.Penney's by using a $10.00 coupon so I am adding $10.00 to the challenge and $1.00 for not spending any money today, a total of $11.00 so my new total for the challenge is $750.48
