Praise Report

November 9th, 2018 at 05:59 pm

Praise report. After paying off the three credit cards 💳 my credit score jumped by 47 points.

I got a revised closing statement and the mortgage will actually be $10 more than I’m paying for rent ($961). I’m thinking that once I close it will actually be less. Correction, this include the escrow.

Other news my idiot brother decided to sue me for the money my dad had in the bank. One I was the beneficiary; two all of it went to legal fees, burial and taxes on the property so good luck to him. Greed

Next, the idiot I have as a SO hasn’t given me one coin on the purchase of this home 🏡. Rightfully so, I guess Neva we’re not married but what get me is I tell him I had to put tires on my car, paid for with cash by the way, and I’m super excited. But he thinks a credit card 💳 was used (usually the case) and he has the nerves to say let’s rent a room to stay out of town. My response, how about you give me the money to pay a bill? 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️. Can’t wait for this to be over.

That’s it for now.

Knocking CC3 Out Slowly

December 13th, 2017 at 05:16 pm

Paid down CC3 to $890. I think I can actually pay this off this month but won't hold my breathe.

January I have the sorority membership due, I know I know. Long story short, I was recommended and the only thing a person has is their word so I can't forgo this. Better planning next year.

I have $265 saved towards some upcoming items, my next check should be pretty decent with the retro pay that will compensate for these items. Either way CC3 should be gone by mid-January.

Update to this post.
Packed my lunch but I wasn't really feeling it. It was a meal that I received on the 7th almost a week ago and I was just like naw. I ordered from Jimmy Johns and the cost was $6.60 plus $2 in tip so $8.60. I decided to pay an additional $9 for this extra expensive lunch. Ugh.
New balance on CC3 is $881.

Other news my boss told me today that he'd leave if I left. Well I think he's going to be leaving because I've submitted my resume to so many companies it's ridiculous. I'm ready to go. The old manager is harassing a colleague to the point that's it's utterly disgusting. Working in HR our goal is to protect the company, well I told this young woman to seek counsel. So if I did this you know what this woman is doing is wrong. The young lady has done her due diligence in trying to work this issue out and the company refuse to intervene and allow this behavior. Even my boss has says what's going on is wrong.

I did it!

July 1st, 2017 at 08:48 pm

I did it, I've paid off CC2 a total of $656.00.

I thought that I wouldn't be able to, but after my fiancé gave me his portion of the bills, I was able to take care of it.

Though my savings isn't that great, just having the CCs paid off makes a huge difference. I feel somewhat free. I say somewhat because I have so many others to pay off.

Now it's off to CC number three, I've already set up the weekly payment of $20 the begin next week.

I'm so happy you all wouldn't believe it.

Bringing everyone up to speed

July 22nd, 2014 at 07:39 pm

Happy Tuesday

Well things have been going pretty well, just wanted to bring you all up to speed.

First my cousins, uncles, and aunts; that I never met , all returned home yesterday safely. It was really nice to meet everyone. We're all friends on Facebook , so that's really nice.

Next, dad gave me $50 so I transferred the extra money to my challenge/ house fund account. I'm really seeing a difference with this account Smile

Ugh! I had to swing by my mom's to talk with my sister, who lives with my mom, and she (mom) still isn't talking to me because of an incorrect address on a box I shipped. Smh and I really don't care.

On a different note, today was payday, I couldn't do my 10% EF, 5% IRA and 3% CC but I was able to add $40 to the EF; paid $20 on the CC debt and deposited $20 to my IRA account. How I see it, something is better than nothing.

Lastly, three things that I'm thankful for:
• Roof over my head
• running water
• learning VLookup in excel

I need your help

January 5th, 2013 at 07:22 am

Okay, I have about $900 I can either pay off 1CC that currently has an introductory rate of 0% until about August (I always pay extra on this CC anyway), or I can add this amount to my EF and be half way at reaching my $2000 saved for the year, or pay the $900 on CC 3 that has an interest rate of about 20% and the balance due is $1500. If I pay the $900 on CC3, I should be able to pay the remaining balance of $600 by the end of the month.

Oh geez I forgot, I have a BoA CC that earns cash back, right now the balance is $4600 I was thinking I could pay the $900 on that card and free up a little money that way anything charged on thus card I can earn cash while paying the minimum along with what was charged in full each month, that way I could earn some extra cash as well.

I'm taking any suggestions at this point.

Looking up

February 16th, 2012 at 08:07 am

Things appear to be looking up. I have moved a lot of things to the new place and will take more over tonight and this weekend.

I am still adding to my challenge and paying down CC1 Smile

I received a notice that my tax return will be deposited tomorrow so I'm paying off CC1 and will start on number 2, the remaining funds will be deposited to the EF account.

I used my ShopKick points for a $25 gift card and purchased an ironing board and shower mat. Since I saved $25, I'm adding it to the EF

Now I'm waiting on the $200 gift card from BCBS in order to pay my cell phone bill and Internet bill.

I called ING today because I have yet to receive my $114 refund for a check that was not cleared and was told it should have been deposited a few days ago. Now I'm waiting on a response.

In the end, the BF dad offered to buy a drive up store for him. Long story short, the store belongs to his uncle and is up for auction since the taxes were not paid. Also, the year before last my BF dad paid the taxes with an agreement that if he wasn't paid back the store was his. In the mean time my BF and friends cleaned the place out but the uncle never reopened it. I say go for it. It would be a great investment because the store is always busy when it was open.

That's it in a nutshell

He can't be serious

December 30th, 2011 at 03:56 am

Well I went to BestBuy with the BF last night, and he bought 2 CDs totaling almost $40. All I could say to myself is You can't be serious? Really? Just two or so days before you didn't have money to put gas in your car and you receive a few payments ( for jobs he had done) and you go and buy CDs, wow. Unbelievable! And to top it off, his family is having a get together and requested, by his aunt, that everyone gives $25, of course I was perplexed, she couldn't be serious. $25 to attend a BBQ? $10 from each person would be more than enough to buy food and drinks. Needless to say I told him I was not going. In the end, the aunt asked him to buy a case of chicken, a little more than $50, and of course he did. He has a serious problem of not wanting people to think he is "broke" per se; however, moving forward I don't have a problem with it. If people think I am "broke" which by the way I am, that's perfectly fine with me, because they won't ask me to buy any thing.

I know when Monday or Tuesday rolls around and he has no gas money or lunch for work, he better not look my way because I am BROKE!

So the good news, I deposited the $150 my dad gave me into my challenge/EF account, keeping my end of year goal--$1000 saved by December 31( I started November 14th).
Also today I will tackle CC1 making a $120 payment vs. the minimum payment, brining the total down to about $520 Smile the goal is to have this CC payed off by January 31st.

I know I have said this before but I am glad to be back blogging about my finances. This blog keeps me accountable, I'm more embarrass to say I spent foolishly to strangers than I am friends, not to say we're not friends.
I feel as though, those of us on this blog is somewhat a sort of family without faces Smile
Thanks to all of you who read my blogs, who are honest about things that you see that I am blind too, your thoughts and opinions mean a lot to me

moving right along

April 27th, 2011 at 06:09 am

Feeling great, I feel like I'm making progress. Yesterday I paid an extra $100 on CC number 2 and today an extra $14 on CC number 3. Friday is payday so CC 2 with a balance of $500 will be paid in full Smile I'm so excited. Then school is out and I should be reimbursed for my tuition in which CC 3 will be paid off with those funds. I'm also almost at my goal of $1000 for the EF.

This year has bee rough

June 7th, 2008 at 07:11 am

I have not been keeping track of my budget like I am suppose to, therefore going well over my dining out budget and other things. In addition, I bought a pair of yellow shoes yesterday for $21, which was more of a want than a need. Any how, I have decided to stop adding to the challenge until I pay down the cc. I am planning on paying $1000 once my EF hits $2000. The reason for the high CC, my emergency dental care and my laptop crashed so I needed a new one.
On a different note, I contacted the bank who financed my last vechile (which was totaled) the gap insurance was to pay the difference and did not, thisd I know. Any how when I called they said that there was not a balance due on the account Smile and did not know why it was being reported 120+ days late Smile because the account was paid in full. So the rep placed a request to have it corrected. In addition, a doctor bill that is showing as non payment on my credit report was paid so I sent in a copy of my cancelled check and the bill from the doctor's office to have that cleared up, now it is a matter of finding the other one. I am trying to clear up everythig before I apply for the loan and send in my paper work for the grant on the new house, that way there are no problems

May 7th, 2008 at 06:01 pm

Hope I am making the right decision. I was listening to Dave Ramsey last night when he told a caller it was ok to hold off from contributing to their IRA temporality in order to save for a house. So I decided to hold off until the end of the year and use the $100 that I was contributing to pay down my car. I really want my car balance as low as possible by the end of the year. I figure I am already paying an extra $100 how about making it $200. I just hope I made the right decision

Any how, I received a copy of my cancelled check so I am sending it to Equifax trying to clean up my credit; I am also filling out the loan papers through the credit union to refinance my car at a lower rate

Payday and broke

January 10th, 2008 at 02:52 pm

Well today was payday from my partime job, $26 dollars went towards the cc, $63 went towards maintenance for my car and $39 went towards my challenge leaving me with a $100 in my personal accout to last me for two weeks Frown

New challenge total $7228.71

Going up slowly

December 12th, 2007 at 06:09 pm

Just checked my credit score and all but 1 went up

657 new--664 Transunion
639 new--647 Experian
622 new--622 Equifax
I am not complaining just a little dissapointed, just have to pay off the cc again and a few MD bills

I also upped my challenge today by adding my weekly $25 to $6761.73
I reaaly want to reach $7000 before the end of the year, but we will see

Scores are up a bit

August 4th, 2007 at 09:58 pm

I have not checked my credit scores in a while since they haven't change at all even though for over a year I have paid my bills on time and paid down or off CCs there are a couple of doctor bills that I have to take care of and an old cell phone bill that my ex did not pay (long story) but I was surprised this month when I saw a slight increase see below, take it from me it is soo easy to screw up your credit but hard as H&&^^ to fix so learn from me and be responsible. Hopefully by next year when I am ready to buy a homethings would have changed

Scores are not going up

April 12th, 2007 at 09:59 am

Now I have been debt free for about 4 months, grant it I have 1 to 2 doctor bills that needs to be paid but my credit score is not going up at all, and i do not under stand why, if I use my card as soon as I get home I pay it off so there is no balance. I pay all other bills on time but when ever I check my scores they are in the low 600s and I am actually closing an account next month because there is an annual fee attached to it

You have got to be kidding me

November 6th, 2006 at 04:49 pm

Ok I thought today was ending on a good note but since I have been home and decided to go through my mail and emails it has been terrible. First the $25.00 for the interst now I check my credit score (I pay for this service every month) and my 710 score just dropped, why because I closed the account that was charging
33%+ for interest. Now this collection agency send me a copy of any old bill because I ask them to verify the debt or remove it from my report. Well they sent me an old statement from the origianl creditor which will not cut it. They are to supply me with proof that they are licensed to operate in this state, sign documentation that I agreed to the terms of this debt and way too many other things for me type but I am back on it requesting a second request and if they do not respond with the correct information I am reporting them the BBB and FTC. Oh I forgot to mention it took me an half an hour to locate my internet card, which I paid $179 and do not have any insurance on it...gues what I will be purchasing tomorrow. I guess I will wait to post my new scores I am simply disgusted...seems like all my hard work is dowm the rain

100 points

October 29th, 2006 at 03:59 pm

I just checked my TransUnion credit score, ( I disputed a couple of charges)anyway my score went from 618 to 715...I could not believe it. I guess paying more than the minium and payind down debt really helps. I disputed a couple of other things wit Experian and Equifax so we'll see what happens

October 8th, 2006 at 07:54 pm

Finally got around to typing up my follow-up letter to two collection agencies who has not verified my debt and now must remove it from my credit file or I can sue...which I probably won't. But now I have to send out a ton of letters one to the CA, another to the state attorneys office (both FL and CA) then one to the FTC and another to the credit bureau, but at least it is done. Now this time next month my score should have jumped because there should be three things removed...what a long process

Easy getting into debt but hard getting out

October 7th, 2006 at 07:18 am

Boy it is a long process when it comes to clearing up ones credit. I have to send letters here and there wait 30 days then send another then if ot respond either proceed with legal actions of write another letter to the BBB and the state attorneys office. I have been so busy these last few month. Any way I checked my score and there really wasn't much change. But I have to start with the letters again Frown
