Hubcaps

January 7th, 2007 at 03:00 pm

Ok last week I notice one of my hubcaps were missing, when and why I have no clue. Then last night I get home and another one is missing. I am so annoyed because now I have to replace them at a cost to me. Who would steal one or two hubcaps, why not just take them all. Is this person going to take one at a time until they're all gone. I am so upset

Sometimes they just fall off especially if you have had tires put on or serviced. I got a great deal at hubcaps.com and they came right out and told me that the clips that held my particular brand on were crap and had a tendency to fall off.

That is weird and very upsetting! I would wait a bit to replace them to see what is up. Sorry this happened to you!

Some hubcaps just fall off (especially if you hit a pot-hole), which then leads to the second possible cause - hubcaps being stolen.

However, as a hubcup is more of a "want" than a "need" (I think they actually trap dirt and moisture and do more harm than good to your vehicle), why don't you just sell off the two remaining hubcaps and drive around showing off your "wheels"? Even if you later on want to sell the car, you're likely to spend more on buying a couple of replacement hubcaps than you'd make in extra resale value on the car (especially if the new hubcaps also disappear in the meantime).
