Dining Out

June 24th, 2007 at 09:36 pm

I have got to get a hold on this, dining out that is. I spend way too much money on eating out on a daily basis and no matter how many times I post about this, (so that I can be held accountable) I just can't seem to move forward. So far I have spent $74.96 about $20 less than last month which is fine but the point is I want this number/amount down to $20 for the month. I am almost positive that I did not indicate some cash transactions so I am sure I spent more than this

i know how hard it is not spending on dining out. a little bit here and there ads up! a muffin for brekkie, a coffee, a juice, a counter lunch, all of a sudden you're over the budget and probably spent next weeks' as well!
i am the same, eating out and takeaway purchases are my biggest downfall. i wish there was some way of being able to stop spending on it, because really it's the biggest WASTE ever. sometimes you eat it and realise you weren't that hungry and could have waited another hour til you got home, othertimes you just don't care or you forget! and the annoying thing is once you've eaten it, it's gone and so is your money!

It is difficult, but hang in there. I pack a lunch four days a week for work, and always treat myself to something on Friday. Same thing with homecooked meals. I cook dinner for me and my boyfriend five nights a week, and on Friday's we always order pizza and we go out to dinner either Saturday or Sunday night. That has cut WAY down on our food bills Smile

Good idea Sara, maybe I should try the gradual process vs cold turkey

I'm with you Sunshine. Our biggest break the budget expense is eating out. We do Wings to Go (All you can eat special) every tuesday night, then we usually eat out 3-4 times a weekend. Adds up very quickly. Good luck - I know you can do this!
