Shooting

March 15th, 2008 at 02:40 pm

Last night I heard this knocking, I thought it was my nephew knocking at my window which he always deos. But when I lookd out I did not see a thing. This morning my mom came and woke me up to show me her blind was damaged and wanted to know why. When I went out side there was two gun shots to my driver side window(front and back) and at least 5 at our front house window. I am so upset I did not go to work. Now it is going to cost me $280 dollars to repair my car windows plus what ever it is to re-retint it I am so F#@$$%N pissed off.

OMG!!! Amber ... I am so sorry, but so glad you are all okay! Did you file a police report??? Did it happen to other houses on your block, or were you guys specifically targeted?

I'm glad you are safe! It is too bad you need to go through this.

Do you have a Crime Watch Program in your area? They really do help and do a good job of keeping everyone's focus on watching out for their neighbors. The policemen will come to the neighborhood once a month and you receive alot of information.

Sometimes having large parties at homes invites strange people in to your neighborhood that would not have gone there if it hadn't been for the party.

Well, as scary as it is that it happened, it must be a relief to know you are not being targeted specifically.

Amber: Next time you hear something, don't look out ... Keep your head down! We don't want anything bad to happen to you!

    Again ... I'm so sorry.

I have heard several stories in just the past year or so about people being killed in their own homes by a bullet fired from a passing car ... I am so glad you and your mom are okay! That is very scary!! I hope things settle down in your area very soon.

Amber, Didnt you write about your car being broke in a while back?? If so, my goodness girl, perhaps this is the wrong place to live!!

In any case, that is so awful. Thank goodness nothing more serious (like injury or worse) occurred!!

it's funny because, i live in a some what expensive neighborhood (which really deosn't matter) and during the day the doors aren't even locked, but this last year has been the year from hell. The Police and every one else thinks it is just some spoiled rotten kids vandalizing the place for fun. Do you guys remember the girl scout bandits? the two teenagers who stole the cookies from the little girl scout, well their neighborhood is not far from mine
I plan on moving any way but I guess crime is all over. My brother who lives in a much nicer neighborhood than ours caught one kid breaking into his car held him until the police got there and when the cop came and went to his home they found all the other stuff he stole from other peoples cars in his bedrood and the parents who one is a doctor and the other a lawyer had no clue that he was leaving at night committing these crimes. And in the same neighborhood one kid whose dad is a big time doctor was caught vandalizing i-95 and in the end the damage he caused was almost one million dolars worth
    This is crazy

Interesting. Heard knocking but not gun shots? Are they large holes? Sounds like air guns maybe. That kind of vandalism is very, very frustrating... but at least it wasn't a real gun.... Not that would help with your frustration through eh?

Ahem, sorry. Just thinking out loud. I'd love to find out who's doing it too....

I'm relieved that you're okay. Things are so scary these days. Tuesday they had 2 break-ins in my condo community. I'm thinking about getting an alarm system or maybe even a gun. I'm going to get the alarm system first.

wow thats so scary! thank god you or your mum were not hurt in anyway. the only thing that has been thrown at our house were eggs once, on halloween (seeing as australians dont really celebrate it that much, there are usually a bunch of annoying kids that go around trying to get candy off people. then they get pissed off because no one gives them any, hence the eggs).
i have to say i myself feel much safer living in a country where you need a license and a permit to have a gun.
