Not one for change

May 27th, 2008 at 04:45 pm

I am so afraid of change and I think that is what holds me back. I have had the loan papers now to refiance my car for a possible better rate and have yet to fill them out and I finally went in to the office today and did it. The loan officer stated that once they are able to verify my employment I wll then be contacted regarding the loan status. My rate is very high and I have since cleaned up my credit paid off a ton of things and always paid my current loan on time and well over the amount due. So keep your fingers crossed.
I also cancelled my land line which I have been holding off on for a while, why I still don't know so that extra $40 saved will be going to my challenge every month. Next I am going to drop off the paper work for the grant. I have filled them out but have been so afraid to drop them off. Why? Change...I really need to over come that fear.
Today was a no spend day thus far Smile but the day has not ended as of yet so I will wait to add my $2 but I will add $2 to the challenge and $2 to the EF for preparing my breakfast
$5826.38

You are making positive changes, and doing very well.

I know what you mean about change. I had the same problem when I wanted to get rid of AT & T as my long distance carrier. I kept putting it off wondering what was I going to do if I needed to make a long-distance phone call. I haven't missed it at all. I put things off as well. That's why I started an anti-procrastination day on Wednesday to make myself do something that I had been putting off doing. I get everthing together on Tuesday night to make sure I have no obstacles.

I can relate to the fear of change, too. So you are not alone. You did really great to work on several of the items you are procrastinating at one time!! I bet you feel better that the ball is now rolling on those items.

Right now, I'm procrastinating painting the bathroom...but I'm pretty sure it's not fear keeping me from that one!!

Change can be scary, but you are doing a great job with it. Just remember that all the changed you are making are positive ones, and you should be very proud of yourself.

Think small steps for change. It helps me to accomplish a new idea or a life improvement. You can do it!!!

Dang, I'm not big on the idea of change either; I don't like coming out of my comfort zone, altho it depends on the reason.

Right now, the reason would be that I am sick and tired of my satellite dish bill going up and the reason doesn't show on my bill. I need to call them and threaten that I will go back to the other competitor, in hopes they can give me a "deal." If there's anything that will spur me into action, it's knowing that I will save $$$ in my budget each month.

i think there are a lot of people afraid of change. i'm one of them. i have a given entry into a uni that is only 20 minutes drive away, guarunteed employment and the possibility of extra cash in hand, a supportive boyfriend who has offered to help me financially as well, and yet i am still reluctant to make up my mind about whether to go or not.
the one thing that holds me back is the possibility that we would buy a house next year.
which leads to a whole other range of change which i would stress and procrastinate about too! and by the time i had made up my mind to get my foot in the property door, i could possibly have finished my degree and be earning so much more...

you see, i have come to the conclusion that you just have to take a deep breath, close your eyes, and take that big giant step forward... just do your best to tackle anything in your way, and you know you always have advice and support here if you ever feel like anything is getting too much. Smile

Zenqueen I totally agree with you on the satellite. I called them a few months ago and they knocked off $10 for a year and gave me 3 months of SHowtime free. Thanks Reflectionate you always have another perspective that always makes sense Smile

Amber, here is my advice to you -
Change can show positive impacts. Just relax and try to see the brighter side.
