What a Day

What a day!

Today I was to be off and run a few errands, well I didn't get home until after two.

First stop, doctor's office. The wait there is always annoying but thank God I only come once a year. I was also happy, because the $65 budgeted for this visit, I didn't have to pay, I'm thinking snowball.

Next I went to have my lab work done. I'd schedule an appointment at a different facility but with the same company. Since there's one near my doctor's πŸ‘©πŸΎβ€βš•οΈ office, I head over, only to find out there's no where for me to sit, the place is packed. I stop at another lab πŸ”¬, that one is more packed than the other. I tried the third one, I had difficulties finding it and that was more crowded than the previous two, smh. So I head to the location that I actually have the appointment. I was trying to get in earlier because I was Fasting and starving.

Since the location that I have the appointment at is near a tire place, I drop my car off to have my tire looked at. Every other day I'm adding air. I found out that I had a nail. I knew it would be some what of a wait so I head over to lab. Get there, and they can't locate the doctor's order. I give the intake specialist my prescription πŸ’Šand she's still having a problem. Smh. Finally she finds the order. I get my blood work done before my appointment and I'm happy 😊.

Head over to Ross to kill time. While there I felt uncomfortable. Though I have money set aside for fun, Ross is the last place I want to speak my money. I look down and notice that the tire company called.

I walk back to the tire place, my car is fixed and it's $21. Yay for me because I'm thinking I can add the difference that wasn't paid at the doctor's office to my CC.

Get outside and the car πŸš— won't start. I mean nothing. The mechanic πŸ‘¨πŸΎβ€πŸ”§comes and does something, then tells me it's my starter. Cost $336. I'm not happy but glad I have the cash to be able to pay to have the repairs.

So while they're working on the car πŸš— I walk to Walmart. I found the book lamp that I was looking for. Went there last night and the clerk told me they didn't have them. I did look in the area of the books but missed it last night. I'm glad I found it though. I've cut out tv πŸ“Ί and am reading a lot more. With every financial book πŸ“š I learn something and that I'm thankful for.

After all that I am now I'm home 🏑 thankful

Well, if your car chose to break down, at least it did it at a place where it could be fixed and you didn't have to pay for a tow.

Have you been having issues with your starter? Does that make, model, year have 'starter issues' noted by owners via Lemon Aid or other, similar publications? 'm somewhat of a cynic and repeatedly hear a similar story. ...take the car for a somewhat minor repair and suddenly have a major issue like a $ 21. tire repair turns into a $ 336. new starter? Have theere been complaints to BBB about that specific tire repair place?

My experience with our nearby Honda dealership was a regular source of stress. When I took the car in for a regular oil change based on mileage, it was most convenient to just wait for service. The mechanic always listed at least 3, important issues like brakes & cylinders or some under the hood replacement followed by seeing me personally to leave the impression that the car's condition was dangerous to drive home. At one point I had a friend who was a mechanic check the car against the information sheet to reassure the vehicle was safe. Funnily when DH took the car there for service, there was never any threat or danger. I truly regret not taking it up with the business manager of the dealership as business practices in that segment has a bad reputation. Texas Husker [Forum side SA] might be able to comment on whether 'starter' is often a fleece.

SNAFU, I actually noticed last week when starting the car it seemed delayed. I even thought to myself I hope it's not my starter. THe car always started though. So I do think it was going bad. I do have one more item to fix and that's the motor mount.

Sorry about your car breaking down, but glad it was where it was and could be fixed AND you had the money to pay for it. You did have quite a day.
