House sold!

May 4th, 2018 at 11:29 pm

Ugh, still waiting on my background screening to clear before I give my notice, this is ridiculous it's been over two weeks. I did find out that the organization left something off, and that delayed the process so I should know something Monday.

I'm anxious because my new supervisor at my current job, told me "she has been saving my job." I'm like really? But what ever.

In financial news, I signed up for auto bill pay for my car insurance, that will save me $5 a month. I have the sinking fund going so that hopefully in October I can simply pay the 6 months and not worry about this sucker.

I finally got the contract signed to sell dad's house. Yesterday the inspector went by to view the home. I'm really hoping to have this place sold by the end of the month.

In SO news, for the last few months he's been doing really well with finances, he even socked away his BS1. I was really surprised

I actually blew some money last weekend, I budgeted for most and reworked my budget, to cover what I spent. What I'm most happy with is that no credit cards were used and I was still able to sock away almost $200. Now it's back to budgeting. πŸ˜‰

Good job! Was it the original investor buyer?

Delighted to hear the house sold. Has the paperwork finalized? Has brother and his stuff actually moved out? What is the result? Has brother lived, rent free from December 2016 until April 2018? Who paid tax and utilities, security repairs, legal, realtor fees and any other expenses? Are these charged to the Estate? Is there any way you can take brother to small claims court for even a portion of rent/utilities/repairs? Does he have any assets that can be attached? I don't like causing problems between siblings but he has really taken advantage of your relationship while you have debt galore.

Sending best wishes on the new job. Hope details are resolved and contract signed since you are unhappy in your current position. Well done on remaining focussed on your DR plan. I think you're coming up on a 1 year DR lifestyle.

    Thanks everyone!

Snafu, I've been paying the taxes, my attorney will recoup my funds as well as my legal fees.

I decided to let him slide with the rent, just not worth the headache. They're aren't any real estate fees, we are going through an investor, the house is in such bad shape, that I'd have to repair things that I'm not willing to do.

My brother is still in the house, his attorney has been notified, it's his problem if he does not get his things out soon, he's been informed. Once we close everything on the property belongs to the buyer.

I'm just glad that this is almost over.

Your brother is of the opinion that the house is his. He likely won't move. Your brother may damage the house before it closes to keep the investor from completing the purchase.

If the investor is aware of the problem, then he probably has the eviction paperwork ready to file after the house is his. Your brother may not allow him to do the final walk through and the investor will have to decide if the risk is worth it.

AnotherReader you are correct, I believe he thinks the house is his. He's an idiot. My attorney has been in communication with his, mind you this is like his 3rd or 4th attorney. He's been told he can't stop the sell.

If he damages the property to the point of it not being able to be sold, I will evict him, petition the courts to award me the house and sue him for damages and legal fees.

My sister ran into an old neighbor who said he told her the house was his. We will see how it all works out.

Every house has a value there's no such issue as a house that received promotes. nicely pricing it's far very essential. At the right charge, the greatest group of equipped, willing and able buyers will see it and consider it. If it’s priced even 5% over that considerably reduces the pool of customers on the way to even see it. Zillow’s Zestimate is commonly correct to inside 5–10% of selling charges.
