Quit My Job

Well I decided to leave my toxic job. I’ve never done anything like this but my peace, and health was more important. 

 

I witnessed a ton of abuse, as well as illegal activities, my blood pressure skyrocketed and I had anxiety as well as insomnia. I really want to report them but but doing so will blackball me. 

 

Thank God I started paying down this debt,  saving money and refinance my house. Without doing so I would have had to stay in that environment. 

 

I had a few interviews last week and I’ll be applying to a few more. I have about 8 months worth of expenses save. 

 

Saw the doctor and now that I’m gone from that place, my pressure decreased and the doctor said she may can take me off. Just waiting on my blood work to come back. 

 

I’ll be applying for unemployment. I also still have my side hustle so that will pay my mortgage every month.

    No one should have to sacrifice their health for a paycheck. With your side hustle and savings it sounds like you will be ok financially for a while. I'm sorry you had to experience that. Good luck with the job hunt!

    I know this must have been very difficult, but you've made the right decision to protect your health. I'm sure a better job is waiting for you in the wings. Congrats on being financially prepared!

    Really glad to hear that you are putting yourself and your health first. I imagine it's scary to quit, but I've been reading your blog for years and know that you are a very resourceful and "can do" type of person, so I have no doubt that you will find another opportunity. Good luck!!

    Your mental, emotional, and physical health are too important to sacrifice for a toxic job it’s questionable ethics. Cheers to having, as JL Collins refers to it, “FU” money!

    I am so glad you left for your sake. And I'm even more glad that you were able to financially do it! Congrats on making such huge changes that in an bad situation you were able to leave.

    Well, that's a little scary, but it sounds like it was scarier actually working there. Maybe you can expand your side gig. I hope you can find a new job that you like better that is low stress and is an ethical business.

    It is like you were supposed to pay down your debt and get your savings built up so you could leave your horrible job. Hope you find something wonderful and a place that is deserving of such a fine person as yourself.

    There should be a means of reporting them anonymously. That's what whistleblower laws are for.
