Feeling Down!

May 17th, 2022 at 01:41 pm

I decided to pay three months of mortgage, HOA, and COBRA. After my conversation with the TPA yesterday, he informed me that it appears as though my contract will be ending. I was really hoping to have paid off my third student loan by June but looks like this won't be happening.

I'm so bumbed by this. I really wanted this loan gone by June. I feel I worked so hard to have come to halt. I know should be thankful for what I have paid off so far, and I am but I am still hurt by this.

Amber, I am sorry you are seeing a setback. Please don’t let this derail your spirit!
I am hoping that there will be some loan forgiveness announced soon.
I also think that you will find a new contract that will be even better than the one you lost.
Take a few moments to look back at your journey over the past five years and reflect on all of your success!

I'm sorry Amber. These "bumps in the road" can certainly test us. It's Ok to feel bummed for a while, but I think you will be fine and there will be other, really fantastic opportunities that will come your way!

I concur with what everyone saying: you have done a spectacular job! Nevertheless, this is very disappointing, for sure!
I was thinking yesterday after reading your post about the Europe trip that you were such a grownup, taking responsibility for your part in your disappointment. It seems to me, that more jobs will come your way, just because grownups are scarce on the ground these days. Best of luck to you!

I know you are disappointed, but don't panic. You have done an amazing amount of work on your finances, so you have some flexibility. I would scale back on debt payback to required payments only until you get a different job.

You'll get it whittled down. I'm sorry you are disappointed. Hang in there!

It's always frustrating when something comes up to make things come to what feels like a screeching halt. I remember feeling like that every time we were close, something would come up and just stall us out, usually something medical where the payment money had to be diverted. And it happened again and again while building our emergency fund. Still, in the end, we got there. We just picked ourselves up and brushed ourselves off and pushed past the disappointment. You will get past this. And I firmly believe that God is looking out for you and will send you something soon. He has been so far. You'll get it done. You are too determined not to. And try to remember that goals are just goals. They aren't set in stone. Sometimes we make them, sometimes we don't. Hang in there. You will get over the bummer feelings soon enough and be able to refocus. (((HUGS)))
