Nervous

May 20th, 2022 at 10:42 am

It was bugging me that I couldn't pay the typical amounts I normally pay on my student loan but I wanted to pay something so $25 it was. The new balance on loan number three is $7,950.

I figured something is better than nothing.

I get a check from another client this month for $800, I'm going to use this for some of the repairs I have to have done around the house. I wish so badly I could throw this at my debt but here we are.

Other financial news. I had to get gas yesterday, to fill up my Camry, it was $71.00. I couldn't believe it. Two years ago it was about $30. I'm so thankful that I'm not driving into work, this would kill me. I would have to fill up weekly, now it's every 30-days or so. It might be longer because I now walk to the grocery store.

I also went to Walmart. I noticed my waterpik stopped working so I needed a new one, cost me $40. Then I needed a filter for my sink. The new faucet didn't have one, and there were particles in the water, that was $30. SMH.

Next I needed detergent, bleach, and dishwasher liquid, all in all I spent almost $90 on four items. My God! I don't know how families are doing it.

Things are not going to get any better. I've been saying since 2020, that we are in a recession; it's just that most of us aren't feeling it and now we are starting to feel it. I'm so nervous about what is to come.

I need to start preparing for hurricane season, because not only are things scarce they're expensive.

I am sorry so many items are needing replacement. You are doing well. You did not have to go into debt to replace / repair. The water pik is preventative maintenace for your teeth.

    Amber hang in there!

We are in a tough time, but know that these never last…you just paddle in place for a while and then things get better and you move forward again.

It’s important to not give up and go backward during the tough times.

Make a list of the things you need for hurricane season and check prices on them each week. Buy a few at a time at the best price you can.

I am expecting at minimum one more pause in student loan interest so your slowdown now, although frustrating, hopefully isn’t costing you.
My fingers are crossed for some forgiveness…

    You’ve got this!

If things don't change, the depression that's coming is going to make the Great Depression look like a cakewalk. And the worst part about this is it doesn't have to be happening. They made it happen. That's what makes me so angry. People voted for someone they knew was going to shut down ANWR, shut down oil leases in the Gulf of Mexico and areas of America, and shut down pipelines and now we all have to live with the consequences, high prices on everything because no one can afford to transport goods and we are importing all of our oil in the most expensive way from other countries on oil tankers.

You've got a lot on your plate, but you are a strong woman who is determined! You can do it!

DH and I've said the same thing...we do not know how people are making it, especially those with children. We count ourselves very blessed.
