Now that I am in school I have noticed that I need to have access to a computer a lot more than before, the courses are actually getting tougher. So I am thinking about buying a laptop, now Compusa has one that is refurbished for $350.00 do you think it is a good idea to buy a refurbished notebook? FYI:I will only need it for internet service and papers

The Hubster buys refurbs all the time!

For what you need it for, that's an excellent price and should last you the rest of your schooling. I bought a referb a while ago and it only lasted me three years but I am really hard on electronics, especially portable once. Still, I think it's a great deal so I say go for it!

Mary, I think Dell's are nice but expensive as well and I need to save as much as possible. Now BestBuy has a deal on a brand new one for $450.00 I think I am simply going to pick this one up. Since I do not need it for much

I don't think refurbs are bad at all.

I would, however, consider buying a warranty.

Laptops tend to get banged up a lot more, especially if you plan to tote it every you go.

Thans for all your input, but because the turn around time is not within my time frame and the fact there is no refund, I decided to head to Bestbuy tomorrow and get the HP at $599.00 Frown it's a little more than I wanted to spend but everyone who looked at the ad stated it was a great notebook at that price. It was $799.00 on Friday.
