Undecided

So I have about $800 set aside and I so want to pay off my CC. Though this will deplete my cash on hand, I'd love to pay off CC2.
Dave Ramsey says to save a$1,000 first and then tackle debt but I just want the CC gone.

I have to laugh because now that I'm engaged I just want everything gone, when it comes to debt. Not that I didn't before but now I'm like it must go.

If you don't have an emergency fund, I would not deplete your $800. There is a reason for having a baby emergency fund. That is money you will rely on if an emergency comes up to avoid future credit card debt. Work the plan! It works.

I'm with CCF, don't deplete your $800. Try to find other ways to save money so you can pay off the debt more quickly.

Count me in with those wise women. Something you could sell, do?

I also think that keeping the $800 in cash would make the most sense. I can understand the impulse to throw the $$ at the c.c. balance, but slow and steady is going to win the race to debt freedom. Congrats on your engagement! so cool that your future DH is facing his money issues and you can work on creating a healthy financial life together. Smile

Maybe there is something you could cut out of your budget in order to free up some cash, eh? I also notice that you have several different credit cards. Would it be possible to transfer the balances of some of them to the one with the lowest rate in order to avoid paying some much interest?
