I bought my SO a Michael Kors watch ⌚️ from the outlet mall for Christmas. To purchase the Michael Kors box 📦 to put the watch in, would have been an additional $6. I opted not to.
Now he wants to know if his watch ⌚️ was bootleg because it's not in a normal MK box. I tell him, I wasn't spending $6 on a box.
His face >>>> 😳
My face >>>🤦🏾♀️
I'm on a budget, he's lucky of if got anything. Lol
He kept saying wow, I kept laughing. This was the first time in months that we actually laughed together. Felt good, just hope it's also a teachable moment for him.
That was a good laugh

My mom kept asking for boxes at every store she bought a gift at. Finally she stopped asking and said to me sadly, "And I just got rid of all of the shirt boxes from last year."
Guess the stores are on a budget, too!
Cute story, though!

I did ask him what would his rich friend do? The one who took us out to dinner and used a coupon, lol. He would have been smart with his money.

We ran into the same thing with boxes being in short supply a couple of years ago around here. I have been squirreling them away and this year I actually had more than we would need and could be picky and recycled those that were in sad shape.
Hopefully SO did learn something from this, Amber. Right now I am carrying a high end purse. But I didn't buy it new. I bought it at a thrift store. It was like new. I enjoy having well made items, but I'm not going to go crazy on a name because I don't care whether people think I'm buying because of the name. I want quality.
