Yay

January 7th, 2026 at 07:39 pm

Finally my $780 payment hit my student loan, I'm officially under $10k. My new balance is $9,991.01.

The daily interest is about $2. Next week is pay day with the first job so I'll be able to throw another $250 on it.

Side-note, I'm learning to keep my mouth shut with the second job. I know that there are a ton of things that's going wrong, but I need the money so I'm just going to keep my mouth shut. Make my two grand a paycheck so that I can pay this thing off, hopefully by March. Basically, I have a manager who's an idiot who makes very poor decisions and I do try to correct them, but it frustrates me so much that I'm learning to just focus on the plan and where I can chime in chime in

One life lesson which is hard to learn is to recognize that work is swapped for money.

People who are good workers tend to care a lot and be invested in the success of the organization they work for - which is great if that is rewarded but a lot of times we give a lot of ourselves away to people who don’t appreciate it.

Sometimes you just have to evaluate whether you think you are doing the job you are being paid for and let that be enough.

@LOI you are correct. I think that’s why it frustrates me. I want to not only protect staff but the organization as well and my manager makes it extremely difficult given their inability to manage as well as knowledge

Congrats on your student loan milestone.

As for keeping my mouth shut, OH YEAH I know that feeling! I've had to keep my mouth shut quite often too, just keeping my head down and get the job done so I can keep getting paid.

Great job on the debt paydown, the end is in sight!

Sounds like you have a good perspective on the second job. Appreciate it for what it is - a way for you to get ahead on your debt!
