My HOA is now requiring that I replace my roof—when it rains, it really pours.
So I made a big decision: I went ahead and paid off my student loan. It’s gone. I pulled the trigger and used money from my savings.
I hated seeing my savings drop, but I did it because my biggest fear has been getting let go and having that balance climb again. I know it’ll take a few days to officially post, but still… I honestly don’t even know how to feel.

Look back sf where you started - renting, drowning in debt, burdened by a relationship where you gave more than you received, driving a car you hoped would keep going.
Today you have equity in a house, a new car with a reasonable loan, no other debt, savings for emergencies and retirement and self respect.
There will always be xpenses in life but you know how to meet them now.
Yay you!
