$20.00 Challenge

September 20th, 2006 at 11:16 pm

I guess you can say I am back on track I am adding $5.00 to my challenge money because lunch was free today and I am positive I would have atleast spent $5.00 so new total $13.38

CC/ $20.00 Challenge

September 20th, 2006 at 03:01 am

Wow, I know I am on track because in the past when I got a bill in the mail I was never able to pay ASAP and I did today, what a really nice feeling. I also paid extra on the CC so today's spending

Car insurance(3 months) $207.43
Electrcity $163.28
Home phone $40.75
CC2/Challenge $51.36

I have decided rather than putting the extra money into a separate account for the challenge, earning less on interest versus the interest on the cc I will use anything extra to pay CC, so that's my challenge

New cc balance:$2450.60

Tier 1 versus Tier 2 Meds

September 18th, 2006 at 01:25 am

Previously I was paying $10.00 for generic meds now I go to the pharmacy today only to be told "$31.63 please" of course I am like excuse me well under my insurance, the plan has increase the cost of generic over brand i just do not get it. But I immediately informed the pharmacist to give me the brand. I wonder why that is?

Back on track

September 18th, 2006 at 01:21 am

Now that I have regained focus midway through the month Frown I am back adding to the challenge, so I paid $24.63 on my high interest CC giving me a new total on this card $1271.85 I can not wait until payday so I can get this thing down to atleast 3 digits but my overall cc balance remains high Frown $2516.96 but I am keeping a open mind since payday is right around the corner for both jobs

New Challenge

September 18th, 2006 at 01:16 am

Well I am starting a new week and and a new challenge of not spending any money unless it is a fixed expense. So I hit the grocery store today (used no coupons) and spent $25.62 on groceries and picked up some personal items, $8.58 so we will see how the rest of the week will go

Studying

September 18th, 2006 at 01:13 am

I still say my $600 notebook has come in handy, I have been studyiny/practing my lab assignments since 3pm to now (8:06)and thanks to my little notebook I am able to practice my Access assignments and to be honest I have gotten pretty good at it. I guess when it comes to education in the long run the money we spend pays off. I have my first test on Tuesday so wish me luck

CC debt

September 17th, 2006 at 01:13 am

Since school has started my CC debt has jumped back up. I had to buy books and a new notebook which was more of a want, but it has worked out because while working at my part-time job (16 hours a week) I study and the notebook has helped tremendously with my lab assignments, I also work on the lab work on my luch break at the other job so this was a great investment. I could not afford the warranty but the guy who I take my desk top to is great. But payday is Tuesday and I plan on paying off the textbooks and the computer that was charged so it should all work . Atleast I was smart enough this time not to use the high interest cc Smile

Back to Blogging

September 17th, 2006 at 12:50 am

Since I have not been blogging I have spending spending spend so guess what I am back to blogging. It cost me $300.00 to get some repairs done on the car Frown But I look at this way atleast it was not $300 for a car payment each month. My goal is to keep this car until I complete school hopefully next fall. My uncle whose friend works at a Toyota dealer took my car in so that save me a ton of money (the labor) so I am happ with that and since the boss gave me $60.00 yesterday I only needed to add $240

I missed you guys

September 15th, 2006 at 11:20 pm

I have not been on the site in a while (a week) I have so much to post but I just wanted to share that my boss gave me $60.00 out of the blue today Smile and I am using the money to pay down the cc so once I deposit it a payment will be made. That was really nice

$22.00 Wasted

September 11th, 2006 at 01:36 am

Well I went to BestBuy today in order to get a cover for my laptop which cost me about $22.00 well I was rushing to get to work and took it out my car (the cover) Well between my car and punching in I dropped the cover and no one has turned it in Frown I have not even used it yet and plus I am out $22.00 Now I will wait to buy another one and only carry the notebook on the weekends tp my part-time job. I really wich who ever found would have been honest and turned it in

The Car was not Sold

September 10th, 2006 at 01:33 am

I came in today and the car that I looked at on Thursday was still here, the seller told me she had some one who was ready to buy for $4200 and yet it is still here...my gut tells me that she did not have any other offers. But if she calls I will reduce my offer to $3500 we'll see

Cancelled AOL

September 9th, 2006 at 04:26 am

I just cancelled my aol dial up since now I have verizon broadband and they gave me the option of keeping my email address SmileI am so glad I got my laptop and Microsoft Access set up that way I can work on my lab assignments for class at the part-time job. Verizon will cost me an extra $25.00 but I am thinking about cancelling my home phone service since I have the cell phone, we'll see..that would actually save me about $26.00. The only reason why I don't is because when a hurricane hit we can not use the cell phone Frown

What do you think?

September 8th, 2006 at 03:42 pm

My brother lent me $3000.00 to get a car, well as you know I did not get the car. Well I was thinking about giving him back $2000.00 and using the other $1000.00 to pay off the high CC (33%) and pay him the $300.00 a month that we agreed on. Let me know what you guys think

Slacking or backsliding

September 7th, 2006 at 10:58 pm

I can say I have atually done some back sliding, I went shopping , bought clothes a notebook and have been eating out for lunch and dinner (this is a big no no). Well it is time to get back on track ASAP, what was I thinking...I guess I wasn't . So I just paid an extra $16.03 on my cc I guess it is not extra since I have added to the balance Frown

Spening thus far:
Gas $19.03
Clothing $33.98
Dining out $27.11 ;(
Gifts $19.43
Education $772.77
Groceries $30.71
Cleaning Supplies $8.84
Misc $193.69
Personal $5.92

And it is only the 7th no way Jose will I continue with this foolishness (spending)

No new car

September 7th, 2006 at 10:26 pm

Well my brother lent me $3000.00 to purchase a use vechile, so I go and look at the car she is asking $4500 my original thought/offer was going to be for $3500 but I offered $3000 she said no and that she had an offer much higher I then said $4000 she said no well that was it for me because I am not press for a car. Yes my car has problems but I am not in a rush. She then stated she was offered $4200 and if I offer her that then the car is mine well I said sell it to the person who offered you the $4200. I am just not desperate, so I am going to fix my car and make monthly payments to my brother like we agreed. I did call my sister so she can stop calling me about my old car

Family

September 6th, 2006 at 11:44 pm

My sister has driven me crazy since I simply mentioned that I was interested in another car. She wants me to give my nephew my old car and has called and bugged the _________ out of me. Every minute she wants to know did yu call the lady? Well even though I did say if I get the car I was planning on giving it to him, but what she has not realize I need something. I just put new tires, and a tune up on that car I was thinking atleast $300.00 then that way I can get the registration and tag on the oter car. But here is the kicker I have not even looked at the other she just assumes I am going to get it and that is what got me so upset not only that my nephew who will be 19 the end of this month has not even got his DL as of yet and she calling and bugging me. He hasn't even called and said one word like if you decied to but the car I will consider it or eeven give you some thing. Not only that I wouldn't mind keeping the car a little longer and put the miles on it, if I decided to purchase the other car

Whew, just had to vent

September 6th, 2006 at 10:56 pm

Well my credit scor changed slightly for this month. I am really working hard at this because next year I would like to purchase a home. Now the cc that I paid half on did not reflect this change Frown I am sure this would have helped, either way here are the results

When you spend, you spend

September 6th, 2006 at 03:11 am

Over the last few days I spent a ton of money. I forgot yesterday I bought a $5.00 dress then turned around today and bought a $15.00 bag which was $79.00 then a pair of $15.00 like what was I thinking ? I guess I wasn't I have not gone shopping in a while now I am thinking about returning the purse and the shoes. Then i went to verizon and because I have a newer notebook I have to get the new internet card at $176 Frown then I used the CC (the high interest one by mistake ) but I just paid $112 on it so that was not too bad. I hate spending I can't believe it

$158... I got it

September 5th, 2006 at 01:09 am

Well I got my money back from BestBuy, I am s happy Smile I like my little notebook and am having fun playing around with it. Tomorrow i will get the wireless service from Verizon and cancel my AOL account. Now I have to purchase the Access software in order to practice my lab assignments. I will be checking out Ebay

New Car

September 4th, 2006 at 10:33 pm

As you all know I am having problems with my car, well on my part-time job there is a 1996 Camry with 34000 driven by the original owner who is about 80 for sale for $4500.00 So my brother said he would lend me the money and I make monthly payments to him. I think that is a good idea we'll see. I am hoping to talk her down to $3000.00

Laptop Issue

September 4th, 2006 at 10:26 pm

Well I got up bright and early and went to BestBuy to get my money back ( 10am) Anyhow I was told it would take an hour to do a recovery on my computer since they installed Office 2003 and need to remove it, well it has been 7 hours later and still no call so I call them and was told they were on disc 3 now I have done recoveries before most it has ever taken was 2.5 hours I can not understand why 7 hours later it still has not been completed as of yet and still no phone call

Happy Holiday

September 4th, 2006 at 05:50 am

Just wanted to wish every one a happy holiday and stay safe

Keep a close eye on your kids

September 4th, 2006 at 05:38 am

My friend just told me her daughter took nude pictures and sent them to a friend of hers whose brother supposely like her. First of all children should not have cell phones, that is how the pictures was sent. I told her to find out who this boy was and if he was a minor then speak to his parents and if he was older report him to the police. Well I think because her and her daughter has not been getting along she is a bit tired and has given up. I tried talking to her, oeverall she is a good mother to both of her kids but I think her oldest is rebelling because she has remarried and has another daughter ( this is the one who cell phone she used to send the pic)Actually her ex-husband who she remains friends with bought the youngest kid the cell phone and would periodically check the phone, he is the one who ound the pics. Anyway she sent them without the sister knowing because the date and time was really later (of course after bed time). Well I think she should get her birth control and condoms but she thinks it is promoting sex..I think it's better to teach "safety" than nothing. I told her to check and see if she had a myspace account all the kids today seem to have them. Wow..you hear about this stuff on the news but you never think it might be me or someone close to me

Good News

September 4th, 2006 at 03:24 am

Well because the guy at BestBuy had no clue and provided me with the wrong information, I can return the software I purchased for a full refund ($150) He told me that Microsoft XP was not compatible with Microsoft Office 2000. So I called and spoke with the manager who confirmed with the sales rep (thank God he was honest) that he did indeed tell me that, and he was wrong and since it is not my fault I can bring the software back and get a full refund. not only that the sleeve that he sold me which I told him was too small and he said not it wasn't, well guess what it was too small, so I am returning Smile I'll get a total of $179+ back. So I am keeping the laptop since it was a good buy

September 3rd, 2006 at 05:33 pm

I'ell see how it works out with me today at work if it really comes in handy. I am definately returning the sleeve i boutght for the laptop no question ($20.00)

I just got this in my inbox and thought this is great and wanted to share:

Good 'Til The Last Squeeze!

There is a product available from many art supply companies
called the "Tube Wringer." This device, intended for artists,
allows you to squeeze every last drop from metal or plastic
tubes. It's not only useful for saving paint, but also for
using up the last bits of toothpaste, medications, cosmetics,
etc. It sells for around $10. I've had mine for over ten years
now, and it's still going strong, squeezing my toothpaste tube
to the last dollop!

Just wondering

September 2nd, 2006 at 03:57 pm

I am wondering how much my credit score will jump since I've had 1 bad debt completely removed, paid down 1 cc to less than half the credit limit and the other one is less than 25% of the credit limit. I am hoping atleast 20 points which would mean a lot to me, especially since the end of next year I would like to try and buy a house. My goal is to be debt free by December and sock away all checks except from my part-time job ( I plan on living off this check for 1 year). I figured I would save close to $20,000 by doing this, if I includ tax returns and X-mas bonuses

$49.17 towards CC

September 2nd, 2006 at 03:25 pm

Ok I went to get an alignment today but my mechanic deos not do them so now I have to wait until next weekend and take it to another place, like Tire Plus or Tire Kingdom. Anyway I decided to add the money that I may have paid for an alignment to my CC acount...well a little less because I had originally set aside $75.00 for this. So I paid $49.17 Smile

Previous Balance:$1221.96
New Blance:$1172.79
Overall CC Balance:$1765.07

I can't wait until I am at 3 digits instead of 4 for a balance due on this card
