Mom is acting strange

February 10th, 2007 at 11:32 pm

I can count on one hand how many times my mom spoke to me today and I have a feeling I know why she is so distant but I really don't care. See the incident with my friend she is the one who told me about and ask that I not say anythinng but I was soooo upset I had to and not to mention I think it was time to cut her loose

V-day shopping done

February 10th, 2007 at 02:56 am

I got my V-day shopping done. I only buy for the kids which are my God daughter and her sister (because she is really jealous) and my niece and nephew but they are in Georgia so I am not shipping anything for valentines day but I will send my nephew a birthday gift

Total spent on gifts today $27.75

Friends & Money

February 10th, 2007 at 01:55 am

My friend who took months to repay me a $100 is now looking for a 2005 BMW 530I. It amazes me, just months ago she was on the verge of loosing it (literally) then she had to obtain a part-time job just to play catch up, now she is looking at a $40,000 car. It just does not make any sense to me. She just put close to if not more $5000 on a cc because there were some things she wanted for her house (mind you wanted not needed) and now she is looking at this car. I can't figure it out. I said to her the $400 to $600 you'll be spending on a car every month why not pay it on your house and pay your house off early. Her answer was in the next few years she will refinance to from 20 to 30 years any way I think it's is all a mistake in getting this car but that is what she wants. Maybe set that money aside for your kids college. It amazes me how people will spend $40,000 on a car and no money set aside for retirement or a college fund for their kids

Lost a friend today

February 8th, 2007 at 01:21 am

I have a friend that the least little thing you tell her she repeats (a drama queen) any how I had enough of her, she drives me nuts. First of all I think she is a terrible mother for example she calls her son dummy, stupid and has even told him if he wasn't here she could do better. Next she got close to $40,000 in her divorce settlement and can not show you one thing she bought other than the furniture for her apartment which is three sizes too big.
Well we had it out today because she made some comments to the mechanic who is friend of my uncle regarding getting my car fix. You all know I have went tooth and nail trying to get him to take it in and then she goes and say something about it obviously creating friction. Now that I think about maybe that is why he has not taken it in. Some time you have to cut ties with people who does not see what you see or appreciate what you are trying to do

BIL

February 7th, 2007 at 04:12 am

My BIL owes me $20 now for about 3 weeks he says he will be reimbursing me on Thursday, we'll see. My nephew owes me $30 but in one of my earlier post I stated I can kiss that goodbye so what am I doing kissing $30 goodbye

This post is more of a reminder to me to give him a call on Thursday

Car troubles may be over

February 7th, 2007 at 04:06 am

As you all know I have been dealing with my uncle and my car. See he has a friend who works at the Toyota dealership and when ever he takes my car in I get a break. Well the problem is getting him to take it in; I have been bugging him since November to take it in, and since he hasn’t, I decided today to take my car into my mechanic. Who was too busy too to look at and ask that I come back? So anyway when I get home today out of the blue my uncle says he is taking my car tomorrow to the shop. It's ironic because I had made my mind up that I was not going to ask any more and just pay the few $100s and get my a/c and tire rod (?) fixed. So if he doesn't take it tomorrow I have already made arrangements with my mechanic to bring it in on Thursday

SIL got a job

February 7th, 2007 at 02:51 am

After months of searching (6 months) my SIL finally found a job. Her and my brother decided to move to GA with out finding a job first (?) Their theory was to sell their house move to GA were cost of living is less expensive than FL but some where in the plan they forgot to find a job. Since money was running low they called my mom last night to borrow $3000 well she called today and said she found a job. But she was so excited that she forgot to ask what the job actually paid...lol I am happy for her

Another no spend day

January 30th, 2007 at 01:44 am

yep I had another no spend day, so I added my dollar to the challenge
New total $715.59
Oh yeah and my brother just called and stated he has a ton of books that I can have so I will be listing those on half.com or amazon not sure yet but I am lookin forward to the extra cash

recieved my last installment

January 29th, 2007 at 02:25 am

From my friend, who borrowed a $100 about 3-4 months ago. Thank God, i have got to learn to say no when ever anyone wants to borrow money, I just remeber when I use to have to borrow;I guess. Well thank God I got my last $50 and I will be adding this to my EF account, now it is just a matter of getting my $30 from my nephew( I can kiss that goodbye) and $20 from my BIL

Vacation ? Not for me any time soon

January 24th, 2007 at 02:12 am

I do not understand why people who are financially strapped always go on a vacation. I have a friend who owes me $50 who has been having problems (financially) and is going on vacation the end of this month...thank God she called today to tell me she has the money she owes me so I will pick that up on Thursday
Then I have another friend who is really in a financial jam but she is going on vacation for two weeks next month because she needs a break (mind you she doesn’t even have the funds to purchase the kid’s ticket, because she is trying to get the ex to pay for it). She is also planning a trip to Europe then ask me if I wanted to go, when I told her no because I am saving for a house she says "well it should not be that much" and then I said it is if I am saving for a house because that is money I can use to put towards my house

Can't believe it

January 20th, 2007 at 10:07 pm

My sister actually paid me back the same week she borrowed money, this is a first. So now I can place this money back into my EF, total now is $941.92
Now I am waiting on the following

BIL $20
Nephew $30
Friend $50
Total $100 (9 times outof 10 I won't see this money) the good thing about it is they won't call to borrow when they are in another jam

Paint makes a difference

January 20th, 2007 at 04:11 am

My uncle came in and painted the bathroom cabinets, well put primer on them, and they look really good so I can only imagine when they are painted. Now I know when I finally save for my house and I am looking at those ugly cabinets...I am just adding some quality paint at a fraction of the cost

Mom paid me back

January 19th, 2007 at 04:24 am

Yep mom paid me the $50 she owed me, I never have a problem with her paying back...she rarely borrows, and if she does it is because she doesn’t feel like going to the bank. Now that her home insurance has gone up I gave her $20 just to pay on some thing like a cc or put gas in her car. I don't think mom has a credit card balance matter of fact I think the only thing she pays is her mortgage I hope when I am her age I will have money set aside (like mom) where I don't have to work unless I have to

I love my nephew

January 18th, 2007 at 03:01 am

I love my nephew he has called me all day long. First he called to wish me a happy birthday and then he wanted to know what I got. Next he called me while my mom and I were out and he wanted to know what I got and where did we go for dinner. Then he called back and wanted to know what kind of cake I got and what I got for my birthday(again), and what we had for dinner. See he is 3 and can not understand that at my age birthday gifts are not as important..lol. Finally on the last call I told him I got clothes and he was ok with that ( I did buy some today)But I think he was going to stress himself out (at his age ) until he found out wat I got. I love him, my poor SIL

Happy Birthday to me :)

January 17th, 2007 at 06:15 am

I am up late tonight working on my project for Thursday's class, I must say it looks nice, any how I did not realize it but it is after 12am and it is my birthday. Mom's taking me out to lunch/dinner what ever I prefer...this is a first in a long time that she has ever done something like this so I am excited, haven't sat at a restaurant for dinner in a while and I love to eat out

Call me stingy

January 17th, 2007 at 03:26 am

But I hate lending money, mom just borrowed $50. I don't mind lending money to my mom because she never borrows it's like once in a blue moon and she'll pay back with in one day and if she borrows it's because she just doesn’t feel like going to the bank ( being lazy). Any how I simply hate lending money I do it because I never know when I will be in that situation but what bugs me is people tell you I'll pay you on Friday and ten Friday's will come and go before you get your money. Right now my sister owes me $300, my nephew $30 a friend $50 and my mom $50 a total of $430 not earning interest (not that it is a lot) Another thing that bugs me is the people who owe you money always can find other things to do like get their nails done, do some shopping, take a trip all of this before you're actually paid back.
Come Friday I am calling everyone

Well I did it and I know it was a mistake

January 16th, 2007 at 03:15 am

My sister called me all day worrying me to death about borrowing $300 and I got so aggravated I went ahead and lent it to her. Now she says she will pay me on Thursday, which I know is a joke. I can kick myself right now

Family

January 15th, 2007 at 05:57 am

My sister called to borrow $300, so i said to her if I do not take my car to the shop she could borrow the money. Well she wants me to hold off....now isn't that selfish I was so upset, why would I hold off from getting my car fix to lend her money. Not only that the person who will be doing the repairs works at the dealer and I get a break so I have to take it in when he is slow. Talk about selfish, I guess in her eyes
I am just a walking bank

Loan payment received

December 29th, 2006 at 02:30 am

My sister paid me the $200 she owed me today, which was a miracle she normally pays in increments...but thank God I got it back. Now I am waiting on $50 from a friend and $30 from my nephew hopefully I will get that some time next month

Boy am I P.O'd

December 25th, 2006 at 04:41 am

just got in and my mom tells me she gave a pair of my undies to my little cousin without consulting wth me first. I may not have been upset if it was a pair of shorts or a T-shirt in which I have a ton of but my underwear? now I have no clue wich one she gave her and I buy expensive bra and panty set which I am sure she gave her a pair of nice ones.I am really ticked off. Not only that but she gave hr room up to a 3 and 5 year old to share my small bed with me which is a double/full so you can imagine with two adults is going to be a pain...you think she would have pumped up the blow up mattress but no...what a way to spend x-mas eve

I love my nephew

December 24th, 2006 at 12:43 am

My brother and his family came down wednesday but my nephew who is three was at his aunt's, anyhow I got to see him yesterday and boy did he have a lot to say. He was up so late talking away, at one point I said to him I was resting my eyes and then he said are you sleepy? and I knew then it was going to be a long night...but we had fun just talking as he would say

Pending Funds

December 18th, 2006 at 05:10 am

Ok I jut went through everything and needed to place a note here regarding all the money owed to me. My sister jus called to borrow $200 I wanted to tell her no but I went ahead and did, I know come Friday when she is to pay me back I will regret it. My nephew who borrowed $30 was to give it back to me on Saturday did not say one word to me and I did not say a word to him, because I am sure when he wants/need to borrow he won't be able to ask due to embarrassment from not repaying me. Then there is a friend of mine who owes me $50 bringing my total owed to me to $280. Boy I do not miss those days when I use to borrow or return items to the store because I needed cash for gas, food or what ever

Not to sure

December 16th, 2006 at 01:43 am

With only 10 more shopping days left I am not sure on what to get my god daughter she is one but I havenot idea. Then there is my neice and nephew...for my neice I was thinkng about a cheap little mp3 player and my nephew who is 3 I am just unsure. I better get a move on thins ASAP

Partial payment

December 12th, 2006 at 04:22 am

My friend wo borrowed $100 a couple of weeks paid me $50 this week, so now I do not feel to bad, I am sure she will pay me the remainder after the holiday. Then my ex father called ask if he could borrow money to pay his phone bill, of course I said no. That man will nickel and dime you to death.he'll borrof $5.00 here $20 there $20 here another $5.00 and before you know it you are in the hole by atleast $100 and of course he won't pay you back. He's a nice guy but he needs to get is priorities straight at his age he ought to be ashamed

Glad to be back

November 26th, 2006 at 07:46 pm

Home in FL that is. We just got in from GA and yes I love m family but I am so happy to be back. The weather was really nice in GA, unfortunately I packed all warm clothing and it was not cold at all. While we were in GA we did some house hunting...lol my brother is now into real estate and these get rich quick ideas, I just wish we could have hit some of the tourist site rather than looking at homes...yes the prices are a lot less than FL but none of us was looking for a house and on top of that I got motion sickness from driving so much

Friends

November 21st, 2006 at 07:43 pm

i ended up lending my friend the $100, she said in two weeks she should be able to pay me back...that's right "should" anyhow I returned the MP3 player and received $63+ back and then had to withdraw $40. I know she will pay me back but I just really hate lending money. I look at my account and I want my money in it earning the little bit of interest that it deos earn. We are going to GA on wednesday and I do not plan on spending anything. I picked up books from the library and will be studying on this little road trip so I am not tempted to spend a dime

Lending Money

November 20th, 2006 at 01:18 am

I have a friend who ask to borrow money, of course I said ok but I hate lending money. Yes I know she will pay me back but it will be a while, I'll be lending her $100. She just got a divorce but she always made the comment that if she wants something she is going to get it. Last year when we were hanging out and she was going through her divorce she spent a ton of money (depressed I guess) but I told her it is not good to have a lot of CC debt...I know from experience. Now when ever I talk to her she is always complaining about how much debt she is in. She did get a part-time job but I know it is the cc's that are driving her nuts

My friend is still at it

November 5th, 2006 at 04:36 pm

I am sure you all have heard me mention my friend who desperately needs to wake up and smell the coffee. Well she lost her job last week, she works from home part-time with a company called Willow bringing home about $375 every two weeks her rent is about $700 a month but she she's no prblem with that and she is planning a trip to Jamaica, her cell phone was just turned off. I fell really sorry for the kid because she has told him she could have more than she has if it weren't for him but yet she is palnning a trip to Jamaica meanwhile her bills are past due. I guess she won't be happy until she hits rock bottom and crying uncontrollably Sad Smiley 038

Annoyed

November 3rd, 2006 at 01:14 pm

I am a little annoyed. I ask my mom yesterday to pick up a ham from Sam's (that everyone will eat) and she as for the money back. It's not even about the money it's the principal...she calls me on a regular basis and ask me to pick up this pick up that and I never ask her for the money back, because the items that I pick up I too can use. Well she says to me just give me $20.00 becuase I picked up cranberry juice for you to...I did not ask for it. You know I wonder how she would feel if I askher for all the money back on the items that I buy, it's way more than $20.00

My friend lost her job

November 1st, 2006 at 11:24 pm

A friend of mine lost her job yesterday, and Ifeel really bad for her because she is not in a situation where she can afford not to work a full time job. She sound like she is ok with the fact that she just losther job and can work from home with a compnay called Willow...here you pay them to work for them. I am not to keen on that idea but she thinks she will be ok. Now she had her full-time job as well as this little gig through Willow and was barely making end meat. I basically just listened because I do not want her to feel like I don't think she is cable of suceeding...but in all honesty I don't think so. She the type of person who has bug ideas but never follow through or starts a projest because some one she knows is doing it and never see it throough. All I can do is wish her the best. I've told her about this site even told her to use an alternate name so that she can list her problems (finances) and the guys and gals can help but like my parents say you can lead a horse to the water but you can't make him drink
